Copyediting
The copyedit (also called a line edit) gets into the details of the manuscript. Sentences may be reworded or tightened up. A copyedit focuses on:

A typical copyedit will cost between $20 and $30 per 1000 words.

For jobs smaller than 2500 words, a minimum project fee may apply.

Robin uses the current editions of The Chicago Manual of Style and Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary as her primary copyediting references.

For books with Christian content, she also utilizes The Christian Writer’s Manual of Style.

Proofreading

Proofreading is the final inspection of a fully edited and formatted document prior to publication. Proofread documents are reviewed for correct and consistent:

Sample Edits
To help potential clients get a better sense of what I do and how we might work together, I offer the option of a 1,000 word sample edit.
The cost of the sample edit (usually around $20) will then be credited against the cost of a complete edit, should you decide to proceed with one.
I can usually complete a sample edit within two business days.
